• Nicheless vs. traditional niche lights — modern nicheless LEDs fit your existing 1.5" return fitting, so there's usually no niche replacement and no draining the pool. Old full-size niche lights cost more in parts and labor.
• Number of lights — a pool + spa combo, or two lights in a larger pool, adds a second unit (the per-light installed price still applies).
• Transformer and voltage — LEDs run on safe 12V low voltage. If your old system needs a new transformer, that adds to the job.
• Cord length and conduit condition — long runs or damaged conduit take more time.
